In 2013, after a series of personal and professional failures, I was emotionally and financially broke. The only thing I could bring myself to do was read. I sought out personal development books for inspiration and motivation.
Then one day, I got an idea to document the parts of these books that inspired me. Using Instagram, I made a vision board of quotes that resonated with me. I took the first step. A very small one, but a step nonetheless.
I continued posting quotes along with my own perspectives on a daily basis. To my surprise, other people started following my page!
I continued to post and blog about personal development principles that had made a difference in my life. Not because I thought I would make money from it. Not because I wanted the title of “entrepreneur.” Not to please other people. I did it because I was EXCITED to do it.
You see, ever since I was a teenager, I've wanted to do something that made a positive impact on the lives of many people. This seemed like my chance.
Fast forward to today, with the help of my fiance and business partner, Vanessa, we've turned what started as a simple Instagram account into a website, media company, educational platform, and lifestyle brand with a global audience of almost 3 million people!
I've had the opportunity to work with best-selling authors and connect with the very people who inspired me to pursue an online business in the first place. I’ve even had the freedom to travel across Europe while running my online business.
Many people think they need to have a polished business plan or perfect product to be an entrepreneur. This is a myth. What you need is to pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to because these things are usually connected to your path, passion and purpose in life. Have the courage to act on them by taking the first step -- no matter how small.
